• Certified Hospitality Administrator designation (preferred)
• Presentation/Facilitation Skills (preferred)
• Excellent customer service skills
INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Direct contact skills involve meeting with clients, media, hospitality industry, city officials, board of directors, and teaming with co-workers. Ability to carry out job requirements without supervision. Travel and flexible hours required.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Vice President of Sales position requires strong accountability with hotel room night productivity and metrics. The VP of Sales is responsible for all conventions and trade show solicitation through the efforts of a strong sales & marketing program by direct sales supporting the sales team. Responsibilities include training sales staff, assisting with presentations and working directly with the Senior Vice President. Responsibility to the Senior Vice President is by direct communication of business metrics and being proactive with leading and communicating results including, but not limited to: accountable sales market deployment, individual and sales team room night and lead goal achievement, daily prospecting, CRM records, industry education and analysis/comparison of competitive set and STR.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Development of a stronger sales team through proper accountability of training, daily prospecting, sales sites inspections, client events, bid presentations, trade shows, proactive networking and achievement of room night goals.
• Responsible for coordinating and expanding targeted market segments to attract incremental hotel room nights.
• Develop productive market segments with proper market assignments for the sales team.
• Develop and execute marketing plan and strategy to expand the National/Regional Corporate and Association Markets as well as other markets.
Actively engage with local hotel DOS’ and Oakview Group leadership to ensure selling strategy success.
• Maintain oversight and continuous interaction with the Sales Administrator to provide streamlined sales processes.
Maintain oversight and continuous interaction with the Convention Services Manager, review updated reports of group definites booked, collateral provided, and all hosting services performed.
• Conduct weekly sales and services meetings to review past performance and to preview upcoming group definites, tentatives, prospects and strategies to increase room night production.
• Conduct quarterly meetings with key hotel partner Directors of Sales to discuss Visit Mobile’s group booking progress, business development, partnership opportunities and value alignment.
• Maintain group file control in software system as well as hard copies as needed. Monitor and collaborate with the sales team members on goals, bid presentations, tradeshows, FAMS, site inspections, expenses, and overall supervision of sales team.
• Participate in the Visit Mobile Business Plan preparation and development as determined by Senior Vice President.
• Provide effective sales strategies and communication between sales and marketing teams to achieve Visit Mobile’s Business Plan Goals and the Mobile Area Lodging Corporation’s Tourism Improvement District Plan.
Be knowledgeable, proactive and value aligned with strategy development of promotional programs/materials, advertising placement, trade show participation, meeting planner events, and FAMS.
• Reports weekly to Senior Vice President on actual bookings and previous week’s prospects. Reports weekly on progress of room night production regarding definite, tentative and prospect pipeline for current and future years.
• Attend local meetings as determined to support goals and plans for the growth of Visit Mobile.
• Attend selected Trade Shows/sales missions to assist in promoting the destination sales objectives and to evaluate overall effectiveness and efficiency of out-of-market efforts.
Establish departmental budget requirements to be kept in accordance with policies and procedures established by Visit Mobile.
Conduct annual team evaluations and goals and recommend bonus program to the Senior Vice President.
